exam 70-696

In December I registered for a free beta exams 70-695: Deploying Windows Devices and Enterprise Apps and 70-696: Managing Enterprise Devices and Apps. January 30, I received the results of the exams: I do not pass 70-695 because of the minimal experience with PowerShell, WDS and App-V, and I passed 70-696 because all the questions were related to the Configuration Manager and Microsoft Intune. 🙂

Dear Microsoft Candidate:
Congratulations on passing the new Microsoft 696 – Managing Enterprise Devices and Apps exam!

By passing this rigorous exam you have joined the group of Microsoft professionals throughout the world who have demonstrated their knowledge and skills in the Managing Enterprise Devices and Apps exam.

Half way to the MCSE: Enterprise Devices and Apps is passed. If I have a lot of free time, I will prepare for 70-695. 🙂

Now exams are no longer in beta and fill free to register.

the very first SUP synchronization and ID 6703

After installing WSUS and SUP the first synchronization does not pass.

Sync failed. Will retry in 60 minutes

At the same time there are no errors in WCM.log , there is only information about the every minute endless attempts:

Attempting connection to WSUS server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

Successfully connected to server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

Starting WSUS category sync from upstream…

WSUS sync was already in progress

WSUS sync running

WSUS sync running

WSUS sync running

Usually after installing WSUS console open is not necessary, because all WSUS settings are managed by SUP.

Solution is open the console, go to Windows Server Update Services Configuration Wizard, click Next four times, then Start Connecting and close the wizard:

WSUS_configuration

The result is seen in WCM.log:

Successfully connected to server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

Successfully refreshed categories from WSUS server

Attempting connection to WSUS server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

Attempting connection to WSUS server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

Successfully connected to server: sccmtest1.firma.com, port: 8530, useSSL: False

After this step the first synchronization works great, also wsyncmgr.log can help you find an additional information about results of the first successful synchronization.
